Swings.

we made 2 swings tonight! one was made out of a hammock and a bungee, and the other made from my old "gypsy mama" baby wrap and a bungee. the gypsy mama one is especially great because the fabric is really durable, but also stretchy. it allowed wren to use it in a ton of different ways. they are awesome swings and the kiddos had the best time with them. wren did "circus tricks" all night. "you can do this, and you can do this, and you can do this, and watch me do this...." i'm sure the swings will be a hit tomorrow with a few other little birds i know.

basil and bites.

Today my babies helped me make a cold basil soup. I photographed them, mainly to capture the sweet skirt Wren is wearing, and the beautiful bouquets of fresh basil and rhubarb that were making me so happy. Additionally, showcased in this photo series, is Wren's eye. This weekend her eye was replaced by a bug bite.

Wren: What's wrong with dad?

Ara: He's sad.

Wren: Why?

Ara: We watched a movie last night that made him sad. Um, it had kids in it, big kids, like Ali and Brita, and all they did was play on computers, and on phones, and on ipods. They never went outside, or played, or went camping, or climbed trees. They never went to the forest or playground. They stayed in the house all the time and only played with screens.....That's not good, right?

Wren: Their moms should say, "PUT THAT AWAY! GO OUTSIDE!"
