vacation

just returned from a relaxing long weekend at gull lake. although the 2 hour drive turned into a 6 hour drive (road construction and poor planning. blah.) with no AC in our car and sadsad kids in their carseats, it was well worth the trek. we were able to kick back and relax with grandma shell and grandpa bunny and auntie kel. wren loved it. kaj loved it. and we certainly loved it, too.

here mike and wren are enjoying the hot tub in our cabin. mikey called it "seal lagoon" and played seal games with wren, enticing her to want to take tubbys all the time. mike was "daddy seal" and wren was "baby seal" and you could throw imaginary balls and fish to them, and they would catch them and do tricks. entertaining for all...and we are blessed with the best baby ever. i can't remember kaj crying at all on vacation. he is sooo good and sweet. content to do whatever and always easy to get a smile. although most of the time he is pretty serious. pretty much breakyourheart adorable, too, don't you think?and the golf cart. by far wren's favorite part of the whole experience. the cabins we stay at rent out golf carts to get around the cabin grounds. wren LOVED to sit in "her car" and pretend to drive places. she also liked to boss auntie kel and grandma shell to get in her car so she could take them around. when wren eventually learned that the golf cart actually could move and drive places she was even more enthralled. she got to ride (and drive) the golf cart by sitting on her daddy's lap. she even gave her mama a heart attack when she stomped on the gas pedal while the keys were in the ignition and almost ran over her grandpa bunny and daddy. geez.
and here we are doing temporary henna art. or mike is. he even developed a strange pirate-british accent and personality, complete with descriptions of his training at "hogwarts school for boys who love henna". he called his art menna. you know, henna for men? yep.
and dancing at bar harbor...
thanks grandma shell and grandpa bunny! we had a great vacation!
